Invitation to Bid

The Park District of Oak Park will
accept sealed bids for the 2010
MILLS PARK FENCE AND
MASONRY PROJECT at 217 S.
Home Avenue in Oak Park. The
project consists of full restoration of
historical ornamental fencing and
masonry repair work for limestone
walls and pillar. Contractors will be
required to provide proof of previous
comparable work of similar scope
related to historic landmarks. The
selected contractor is required to
obtain all necessary permits prior to
mobilization with the Village of Oak
Park. A non-mandatory, pre-bid con-
ference will take place on Thursday,
October 21st, 2010 at 1pm at the
Pleasant Home, 217 Home Avenue,
Oak Park, IL 60302. Attendance is
encouraged is obtain a full
understanding of the scope of work.

Project Manuals and bid documents
may be obtained from the Park
District of Oak Park, John L. Hedges
Administrative Center, 218 Madison
Street, Oak Park, IL 60302 on week-
days between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM
starting on or after Wednesday,
October 6th, 2010 for a non-refund-
able twenty dollar ($20) fee - checks
written out to the Park District of Oak
Park. Bid bonds will be required by
bidding contractors. Performance
and Labor bonds will be required.
Payment of prevailing wage rates
will be required. Bids must be
placed in a sealed envelope marked
"2010 Mills Park Fence & Masonry
Project" and must be delivered on or
before 10am CST on Tuesday,
October 26th, 2010 to Neil Adams,
Project Manager, Park District of
Oak Park, John L. Hedges Adminis-
tration Center, 218 Madison Street,
Oak Park, IL, 60302. Immediately
thereafter, bids will be opened and
read. The Park District of Oak Park
encourages qualified minority-
owned and woman-owned business
enterprises to compete for and
participate in the Park District's
supply requirements.
